Ijeoma Isiadinso, MD MPH FACC FASNC is a Preventative Cardiologist and Associate Professor of Medicine with the Division of Cardiology at Emory University School of Medicine. She is the Medical Director of the Emory Center for Heart Disease Prevention. Dr. Isiadinso previously served as the Director of the Emory Women’s Heart Center Screening Clinics at Decatur and Lithonia.
Dr. Isiadinso earned a dual degree in Medicine and Public Health during medical school. She joined the faculty at Emory University School of Medicine in 2010 after completing her Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at Temple University Hospital where she also served as Chief Fellow in her final year. She is Board Certified in General Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography.
She serves on several national and regional committees including the American College of Cardiology, American Society of Preventive Cardiology (ASPC), American Heart Association and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. She is the Co-Chair/co-organizer of the Familial Hypercholesterolemia National Awareness Campaign with the Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC). She was appointed as Co-Chair of both the Prevention Committee for the ABC and the ASPC Women in Preventive Cardiology Workgroup. Dr. Isiadinso is a member of the editorial board for Circulation: CV Imaging and the Journal of the American Heart Association. She was also an invited writing group member of the 2025 ACC/AHA Guideline on the Management of Patients with Acute Coronary Syndromes.
Dr. Isiadinso is the site Primary Investigator for several clinical studies including the WARRIOR, Victorion-INCLUSION, and HORIZON trials. She is a dedicated educator and serves as the CME Course Co-Director for the Emory Symposium on Coronary Atherosclerosis Prevention and Education (ESCAPE) Conference and the Annual Emory Women and Heart Disease Symposium. Since 2012, she has been the clerkship director for the Preventive Cardiology Elective.
Dr. Isiadinso is a national and internationally recognized speaker who has lectured extensively on lipid management, cardiovascular risk reduction and Lp (a). She was appointed as a participant in an LDL-C Quality Measure Roundtable discussion co-hosted by the National Lipid Association and the National Forum for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention. In 2013, she was recognized as an American Heart Association Power to End Stroke Ambassador for her efforts to increase stroke awareness in the African-American community. For several years, Dr. Isiadinso has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Atlanta “Top Doctor”. She has also received the Castle Connolly Exceptional Women in Medicine Award annually since 2020.
She is passionate about preventing heart disease with special clinical interests in the management of complex lipid disorders, cardiovascular disease in women and cardiovascular risk reduction in patients with systemic inflammatory conditions. Her research interests include addressing disparities in health care, community and preventive health, lipid disorders, women and heart disease, and program development and evaluation.
