WomenHeart – SisterMatch

Sometimes, the most difficult aspect of a heart disease diagnosis is the isolation. It’s hard to find someone who gets what you’re going through.

Being able to talk to someone who’s gone through similar experiences first hand can make all the difference for emotional recovery. Connecting with someone who’s been in your shoes can help you learn how to deal with the new thoughts, emotions, and experiences you’ll face in this journey.

SisterMatch is a peer-led support network designed to connect women experiencing heart disease to others who are or have been through the same. Through SisterMatch, you can connect with a WomenHeart Champion volunteer via a phone call, the app, email, or in person to receive encouragement and support.

The matching process centers on connecting users with the WomenHeart Champion who best matches the responses in their profile. After completing a profile, you will have an opportunity to select specific WomenHeart Champions to be matched with, whether you base your decision on having a similar diagnosis, geographic location, age, or more.

The app also provides information about Support Network meetings should you decide to seek support in a group setting, as well as provides other WomenHeart news and information.

You can find the app on the Apple and Google Play stores.
