Mental Health and Heart Disease: Honest Conversations and Shared Experience

Living with heart disease affects more than physical health. Many women experience fear, grief, anxiety, loneliness, guilt, shame, or changes in identity after a diagnosis, yet the emotional side of living with heart disease is not always openly discussed.
Join WomenHeart for a conversation about mental health and heart disease moderated by WomenHeart Champion and licensed psychologist Kiki Fehling, PhD. During this discussion, we will hear directly from WomenHeart Champions about their experiences navigating the emotional and mental health impact of heart disease. Through personal stories and guided discussion, panelists will reflect on how they coped with diagnosis, adjusted to life changes, managed stress and uncertainty, sought support, and cared for their emotional well-being alongside their physical health.
This session is intended to foster honest conversation and shared learning around the emotional impact of heart disease. Participants will hear candid reflections from women navigating heart disease and learn from their experiences, perspectives, and the ways they have navigated coping and adjustment throughout their journeys.
