Dr. Wenger is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Emory University School of Medicine, a Consultant to the Emory Heart and Vascular Center, and the Founding Consultant of the Emory Women’s Heart Center. A pioneer in women’s cardiovascular health, she chaired the U.S. National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute Conference on Cardiovascular Health and Disease in Women and has contributed extensively to cardiac rehabilitation, including chairing the WHO Expert Committee on Rehabilitation after Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Wenger has also led advancements in geriatric cardiology as Past President of the Society of Geriatric Cardiology and Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Geriatric Cardiology for over 15 years. With over 1,700 scientific publications, Dr. Wenger has authored American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association Clinical Practice Guidelines and serves on numerous journal editorial boards. A sought-after lecturer on topics like heart disease in women and the elderly, cardiac rehabilitation, and contemporary cardiac care, she continues to shape the field and is recognized among the Best Doctors in America.
