Dr. Sharonne Hayes
Dr. Sharonne N. Hayes is a Professor of Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where she founded and leads the Women’s Heart Clinic. A passionate advocate for women’s health and sex-based medicine, Dr. Hayes has spearheaded initiatives to mentor women physicians and scientists and contributed to the development of the NHLBI’s Heart Truth (“Red Dress”) campaign. She also serves on the Scientific Advisory Council for WomenHeart and is Medical Director of the annual Science & Leadership Symposium. Her research focuses on sex and gender-based cardiology, conditions like SCAD and fibromuscular dysplasia, health equity, and the intersection of social media with clinical practice and health education. Dr. Hayes is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association, as well as a member of the Association of Black Cardiologists. She earned her medical degree from Northwestern University and completed fellowships in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Research, and Cardiovascular Diseases at Mayo Clinic, cementing her reputation as a national leader in cardiovascular health and equity.
