She is the System Director of the Women’s Heart Program at Northwell Health, Director of Cardiovascular Disease at Katz Institute of Women’s Health and Associate Professor, Department of Cardiology, Donald and Barbara Zucker, School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, In these roles she has developed and expanded programs on use of mammogram breast arterial calcification as a CVD screening tool in women, cardio-obstetrics, INOCA programs and menopause-focused CVD care across the Northwell. Dr. Parikh’s research demonstrated that parity and gravidity was associated with cardiac structural and electrical remodeling, as well as heart failure outcomes.

As a clinical epidemiologist, she has utilized large-scale population data to develop novel risk stratification tools and chaired the American Heart Association’s 2021 scientific statement on Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes and CVD. She has mentored dozens of students, residents, fellows and junior faculty members in the area of women’s heart and population research. A graduate of New York Medical College with an MPH from UC Berkeley, Dr. Parikh was associate professor of medicine at UCSF and Deputy Editor for cardiology at UpToDate, where she shaped widely utilized clinical guidelines for women’s heart health and primary prevention.
