WomenHeart in Communities:

Connecting Women, Changing Lives

Sponsored by Bristol Myers Squibb

At WomenHeart, we believe that community is at the heart of change. Our Communities of Connection initiative is a pioneering, grant-funded program designed to unite women and community leaders to tackle the pressing issues surrounding women’s heart health. Led by WomenHeart and our dedicated Champions, and sponsored by Bristol Myers Squibb this initiative strives to raise awareness about heart disease in women, address local heart health challenges, and empower women to prioritize their well-being.

Our Mission

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death among women, yet it is often misunderstood and overlooked. WomenHeart is on a mission to change that. Through Communities of Connection, we aim to:

Raising Awareness

Spread vital information about the risks and symptoms of heart disease in women.

Engage Local Leaders

Bring together women and community leaders for listening sessions to identify and address barriers to heart health.

Empower Women

Provide resources and support to help women take control of their heart health.

Bringing Change to Local Communities

We are currently implementing this transformative program in four priority communities with a high risk of cardiovascular disease: Kansas City, New York City, Phoenix, and Washington D.C.

Listening Sessions

Engaging with local women to understand their unique heart health challenges and needs.
