Wednesday, June 26, 2013
The American Medical Group Association (AMGA) announced today that WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease will join forces and collaborate on Measure Up/Pressure Down—a national campaign to improve high blood pressure prevention, detection, and control, spearheaded by the American Medical Group Foundation (AMGF), AMGA's nonprofit education and research arm. WomenHeart will work together with AMGA to raise awareness on the dangers of high blood pressure and the risks of leading to other serious conditions such as heart disease, which is the leading cause of death in women. The organizations will collaborate on resources, educational information, and tools for physicians and patients to achieve better blood pressure control and subsequently reduce the risks for heart disease in patients.
