Berry Smoothie with Lemon Thyme

It’s Spring Thyme!

This month’s Recipe of the Month comes from our #29daysofheart partners My Natural Sistas! For the #29daysofheart African American outreach campaign, My Natural Sistas recreated one of our favorite recipes; and with Spring in full effect, the Thyme is now to break out the blender for a heart healthy treat!

Serves 6

3 sprigs fresh lemon thyme (if you don't have lemon thyme, regular thyme will be just fine)

10 dates

1/2 T grated lemon peel

2 bananas

8 oz mixed frozen berries

1 1/2 cups almond milk

1/4 cup fresh blueberries

1/2 cup of coconut sugar

My Natural Sistas are based in Houston, Texas and have a collective background in education, nutrition, and personal training, as well as a strong passion to empower and inspire women to embrace their natural beauty and love the skin their in!

Check out My Natural Sistas’ blogpost and video to learn more about heart disease and a tutorial on how to make this refreshing Berry Smoothie with Lemon Thyme!
