Thank You for Your Support of WomenHeart

We appreciate your contribution, in whatever amount you choose to give. Your donation helps WomenHeart empower women to take charge of their heart health.

16 Years of Demonstrated Results

Trust WomenHeart to use your donation wisely. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, WomenHeart is highly rated for its financial health and proper stewardship of donor contributions by Charity Navigator and Guidestar.

WomenHeart's work makes a real difference in the quality of lives of women living with heart disease.

  • Each year, WomenHeart trains volunteers to deliver free support meetings to women heart patients nationwide. In 2014, 6,156 women heart patients attended 680 support network meetings nationwide.
  • Volunteer WomenHeart Champions also educate about heart disease at community health fairs and workplaces. In 2014, volunteers participated in 443 outreach events, including 210 health fairs, 162 speaking engagements, 24 workplace presentations, and 30 media events.
  • Through the HeartScarves program, WomenHeart volunteers deliver hand-knit scarves and Red Bags of Courage containing heart disease information to hospitalized women cardiac patients, as well as to support meeting participants and community education event attendees. In 2014, volunteers distributed 993 Heartscarves to women heart patients and 64,000 Red Bags of Courage in the community.

  • SisterMatch pairs trained WomenHeart volunteers with women heart patients who are looking for one-on-one moral support. In 2014, 700 WomenHeart Champions in 49 states were trained and ready to provide support.

  • Online communities on Inspire, Facebook and Twitter also provide education and support. In 2014, 25,000 people connected with WomenHeart via online support networks.

Your donation helps WomenHeart reach even more women with education and support, and your contribution may be tax-deductible. To discuss your giving options, or if you have questions, please contact Katrina Clayton, Development Associate at WomenHeart (202) 464-8738.

Participate in Your Workplace Giving Campaign

Many workplaces offer their employees the opportunity of donating directly from their paycheck to the charities of their choice. This is an easy way to give.

  1. If you give through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), designate WomenHeart as your recipient.  Our CFC number is 15217.

  2. If you give through United Way, designate WomenHeart as your recipient.

  3. If your workplace has a similar campaign, please designate WomenHeart as the recipient of your workplace giving contributions.

Participate in a Matching Gifts Program

Your gift could have double the impact with a matching gift from your employer. Some companies match employee contributions dollar for dollar. Some employers extend this benefits to retirees and spouse of employees, as well.

Ask whether there is matching gift program at your workplace. For more infomation about matching gifts, please contact WomenHeart Development Associate Katrina Clayton (202) 464-8738.

Sponsor a Future WomenHeart Champion

If you choose, you can designate your contribution to support the training of a future WomenHeart Champion at WomenHeart's annual Science & Leadership Symposium.

WomenHeart trains these volunteers -- women heart patients themselves -- to provide community education and support to women in their home areas.

Your donation of $25 or more will be contributed to WomenHeart's scholarship fund for women volunteers who need help with expenses associated with travel to the Symposium.

Provide Monthly Support

Monthly donors provide WomenHeart with a steady stream of income to meet program administration expenses. With this option, you can choose to make your monthly contribution by credit card or with regular electronic withdrawals from your checking account of choice.

Leave a Legacy with Planned Giving

With a planned gift to WomenHeart, you can leave a lasting legacy that helps empower women to take charge of their heart health. Planned gifts are made by designating WomenHeart as a beneficiary of a will, retirement account, life insurance policy, or trust.

Sample language for your bequest:
