"Welcome! My name is Porothea Dennis. I am a WomenHeart Champion and the District Community Leader for the East North Central District including Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. I am a women living with heart disease and diabetes mellitus type 2. I am a healthcare professional and love to volunteer and teach others as long as my health allows me. I am in the sandwich generation as I care for parents, grandparents, uncle, children and grandchildren. I love being a WomenHeart Champion because it allows me an opportunity to teach other women who are touched by heart disease. It also gives me an opportunity to make new connections to spread the word and help others talk about their experiences. As a DCL, I am the liaison for the WomenHeart Champions in my district and the corporate office, providing guidance and a shoulder to lean on when needed."
