Strategic Plan 2005 - 2007

MISSION

To improve the quality of life and healthcare for women living with heart disease, and to advocate for their benefit.

VALUES

PATIENT-CENTERED. We are committed to serving the needs of women with diagnosed heart disease.

EMPOWERMENT. We believe that education and training enables women to take charge of their heart health and advocate for other women.

EQUALITY. We are dedicated to ensuring that women have equal access as men to accurate cardiac diagnostic testing and proper treatment.

INCLUSIVENESS. We believe diversity strengthens and enriches every aspect of our organization.

COLLABORATION. We actively seek meaningful and productive partnerships with other organizations to educate women about heart disease.

QUALITY. We are committed to rigorous evaluation and continuous improvement of all aspects of our organization.

VISION

WomenHeart is the only national patient-centered organization that provides support, education and advocacy for women living with heart disease. Through our coalition of national organizations and community-based support networks, we offer comprehensive services to women with heart disease and empower all women to take charge of their heart health. WomenHeart is a preferred source of information for public policy leaders and the media. Through our advocacy efforts, all women receive early detection, accurate diagnosis and proper treatment of their heart disease.

GOALS

  • Provide a high quality multi-faceted support system for women living with heart disease.
  • Provide a comprehensive education program to help women take charge of their heart health.
  • Influence and shape public policies affecting women with heart disease and their access to quality health care.
  • Increase visibility for WomenHeart and its policy agenda.
  • Grow and diversify WomenHeart's sources of funding.
  • Build a strong organization to support WomenHeart's mission and growth.
