to spread the word about HeartScarves:
WomenHeart increase our supply of HeartScarves so we can continue to touch the
lives of thousands of women with heart disease across the nation!
About the HeartScarves
Program: Created in 2005 by two women heart disease
survivors, the HeartScarves program
encourages women heart patients by delivering handmade red scarves to members
of our WomenHeart Support Networks, women undergoing cardiac procedures and to
women with heart disease at large, as a way of showing them the support and
caring from their communities.
The HeartScarves program currently receives
its supply of scarves from hundreds of local craft groups who dedicate their
time and talent towards this cause. In fact, for the selfless acts of these
contributors, the HeartScarves Craft
Community was recently honored at the 12th Annual Wenger Awards
for Excellence in Community Outreach. Click here to view the video presented at the
12th Annual Wenger Awards for an in depth look at the HeartScarves
program’s transformation and the impact it’s having on the women it reaches!
How You Can Get Involved:
program has grown to impact thousands of women annually, but we have the
capacity to impact thousands more if we could simply increase the production of
scarves. WomenHeart is calling on you to help us reach our goal of increasing
the number of women we impact through this valuable program. You do not have to
be a WomenHeart Champion or a WomenHeart
Support Network Coordinator to participate or support. There are several ways
you can get involved.
you knit, crochet or weave, you can
create a scarf (or scarves)
can take a few moments to reach out to
local craft groups in your area and tell them about this great program and
how they can get involved
