You Can Help Women with Heart Disease Live Well and Thrive!

Join WomenHeart Society and help Women live heart healthy lives

“My doctor saved my heart, but my WomenHeart Support Network saved my life.”

- Womenheart patient support group participant

WomenHeart is the nation’s only patient education and support service available for the nearly 48 million American women at risk of or living with heart disease, providing free online, telephone, and in-person patient support services.

Become a WomenHeart Society member. Join the movement that empowers, educates, and supports women living with heart disease while promoting heart health.

“I can provide medicine and therapy, but I can’t match the sisterhood

WomenHeart provides that is critical to healing.”

- Susan Bennett, MD

Your WomenHeart Society membership supports our patient support programs for women including:

-   WomenHeart Support Network:  In-person support groups led by trained volunteer WomenHeart Champions across the country.

-    Sister Match:  A program that connects newly diagnosed patients with trained volunteers who provide peer support via telephone, email, and occasionally in-person visits.

-    Online Support Community:  An intranet-based alternative to our popular in-person meetings, WomenHeart’s online support community provides a vibrant forum for conversation and sharing of experiences that are unique to women with heart disease.  Members easily connect to share information, experience, and support; more than 36,000 Women are currently registered.

-    HeartScarves:  A popular initiative in which women who have recently suffered a heart event or are newly diagnosed with heart disease are given hand-knitted or crocheted red scarves and educational materials during their hospital stays; these scarves serve as a token of comfort and ensure that women to turn to WomenHeart for our patient support services.

-    Virtual Support Groups:  Virtual support groups that  provide education and comfort to women and caregivers across the nation.
