Join WomenHeart and Burlington for Heart Month 2016

For the fifth consecutive year, Burlington Stores, the national off-price retailer, and WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease are teaming up for American Heart Month to educate women nationwide about the importance of their heart health!

Point-of-Sale Campaign

From February 1st – the first day of American Heart Month – through March 31st, Burlington Stores customers are invited to help raise funds to increase awareness about the importance of women’s heart health and to support women living with heart disease. 

Customers can donate $1 or more at any of the 563 Burlington Stores locations nationwide to benefit WomenHeart’s mission of educating women about the importance of their heart health!

Free Heart Health Screenings for National Wear Red Day

47 Burlington stores (a store in each state, territory, and District where Burlington Stores has locations) will host a free women’s heart health screening in partnership with WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease.

When: Friday, February 5, 2016 (National Wear Red Day); 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. for all timezones

Where: 47 Burlington stores in the continental U.S. and Puerto Rico. See the list of stores that will be hosting heart health screenings near you!

What: Free heart health screenings by a certified health professional consisting of blood pressure, BMI (Body Mass Index), waist circumference, pulse screening, and heart health questionnaire.

Customers will also have the opportunity to talk with trained WomenHeart volunteers – WomenHeart Champions – who are heart disease survivors.

Customers will receive the WomenHeart Red Bag of Courage® and Spanish-language Para la Mujer Hispana® Red Bag of Courage, a tote filled with useful information on living heart healthy and recognizing the warning signs of a heart attack.   

#HealthyHeartSelfie Challenge

Throughout February – American Heart Month – join celebrity talk show host Wendy Williams, Burlington Stores and WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease in taking the #HealthyHeartSelfie Challenge!

Check #HealthyHeartSelfie on Twitter and Instagram for a fun heart health tip and then snap a selfie of how you are using that tip, or simply show us what heart health means to you with a picture, and post it on Twitter and Instagram! For every photo posted with #HealthyHeartSelfie on Twitter and Instagram, Burlington will donate $1, up to $25,000 to WomenHeart!
