Join us at the FREE East L.A. Health Fair for free health screenings and a chance to win 1 of 3 bikes for the first 500 families to RSVP at 213-483-5151. We will be partnering with the office of Assemblyman Jimmy Gomez to host this free event offering free health screenings, children's activities, and information on the Affordable Care Act.

The new health care law, also known as the Affordable Care Act, takes effect January 1, 2014. Open enrollment for California's health insurance marketplace, Covered California, begins October 1, 2013. Covered California is our state's easy-to-use marketplace where you and your family may get financial assistance to make coverage more affordable and where you will be able to compare and choose health coverage that  best fits your needs and budget. By law, your coverage can't be dropped or denied even if you have a pre-existing medical condition or get sick. Representatives who will discuss both the ACA and Covered California will be present at the event.
