The Christiana Care Center for Heart & Vascular Health is pleased to introduce WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease to New Castle County. WomenHeart is the only national organization dedicated to community education and patient support for those at risk of heart disease. As the leading voice for the 41 million American women living with, or at risk of, heart disease, WomenHeart advocates for equal access to quality care and provides information and resources to help women take charge of their heart health.
Meetings: 1st Tuesday of the month* from 6-7:30 PM
May 5: Deep Vein Thrombosis--What is it, how is it treated and how can you prevent it? How are problems with the arteries in the legs different from problems with veins? Dr. Mark Garcia, Medical Director for Christiana Care's Center for Comprehensive Venous Health
June 2: Sleep Apnea and Heart Disease--The heart does not like uncorrected, obstructive sleep apnea. Carol Gray, MSN, CRFP, Nurse Practicioner, Christiana Care Pulmonary Associates.
