"Welcome! My name is Myra Robin and I am a WomenHeart Champion and the Mid South District Community Leader for WomenHeart Support Networks in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana. In 2009, I suffered a massive heart attack that left my heart with permanent, irreversible damage. I have since been diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure, Cardiomyopathy, Coronary Artery Disease, Atrial Fibrillation and Left Ventricular Dysfunction.
I live in the heart of south Louisiana and am a Cajun gal! I love to cook authentic, old fashioned Cajun dishes. I’ve learned to modify the dishes in order to be more heart healthy while keeping that true “Cajun” taste. I am married and have 2 grown children and 3 grandchildren. I am a twin, my daughter has twins and my grandparents had 2 sets of twins! In my spare time, I love to paint wine glasses.
Being a WomenHeart Champion has allowed me to pursue my passion to encourage other women living with heart disease so they can live a productive and positive life. I am committed to delivering the message, 'Do not let heart disease dictate who you are, nor who you can become!' ”
