Heart disease is the leading cause of death in American women, and is responsible for one in every three female deaths in the U.S. Public health funding cuts decrease the effectiveness of federal programs to improve women’s heart health, jeopardizing the health of women. Heart of Style Tour gives new insight into Hispanic-American women and heart disease
Health screenings of women who visited the Heart of Style Tour as it traveled to 30 Burlington stores across the United States revealed that Hispanic-American women were found to be physically inactive with a body mass index in the obese range. Millions of Burlington customers also made donations through Burlington's Red Dress event totaling $1.4 million, with an additional $25,000 donation from Burlington. Read more here.
