New FDA Action Plan Will Help Close the Health Care Disparities Gap for Women and Minorities

A new action plan released by the FDA to increase the participation of women, minorities, and the elderly in research trials was welcomed by WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease, American Heart Association, National Women's Health Network and Society for Women's Health Research. The groups called on the agency to implement the plan swiftly.

 

Faces of Austerity report examines how budget cuts affect women's heart health

WomenHeart, as part of the Coalition for Health Funding, released a report documenting the consequences of Congress' cuts to public health programs.

 

The cuts decrease the effectiveness of federal programs to improve women's heart health, jeopardizing the health of women. Read more about the report here. Read WomenHeart's article in the report here.
