Carrie M. Loveless, a Science & Leadership Symposium graduate of 2008, brings to her new position as Board Chair, a passion for WomenHeart’s mission and a deep gratitude to WomenHeart for the role it has played in her recovery from a heart attack in 2008.
"As a heart attack survivor and WomenHeart Champion, I am honored to represent all women living with, or at risk for, heart disease. I am passionate about WomenHeart and look forward to giving back to an organization that has given me so much.” In 2008, she served as the patient voice for the WomenHeart & Colgate Satellite Media Tour.
Her primary goal for her term as chair is to help further expand WomenHeart’s reach. "I’m living a healthier, stronger, happier life as a result of my involvement with WomenHeart, and my mission is to help us reach every woman with our message of healing and hope.”
She has a special interest in helping raise heart-health awareness, particularly in women underserved by the medical community. As a military spouse she is deeply concerned with helping military spouses deal with the particular stresses of their lives.
Carrie resides in Alexandria, VA, with her husband Bruce who is a rear admiral in the U.S. Navy. Loveless also brings substantial business and organizational skills honed during more than 20 years experience in event management, most recently as the owner of Carried Away Events. Her professional experience in this field ranges from corporate events and large trade shows for Fortune 500 companies to weddings, fund-raisers and other social events. She is an event industry leader, accomplished author, and a guest speaker often called upon to address the news media.
